Job Description

SRC is hiring one full-time Data Engineer who will work on our football intelligence platform. You will play a pivotal role in the ingestion, transformation, and maintenance of football-related data. You will work closely with the CTO and data scientists to build and maintain the data infrastructure that powers our analytics platform. If you are passionate about football and have a strong background in data engineering, this is a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of football analytics innovation. Our goal is to build the highest level of analytics in global football, and we are seeking candidates who share this level of ambition.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

This candidate will work closely with our team to develop and enhance our infrastructure, models, and analysis tools. This will include the following responsibilities:

Maintain and improve existing ETL pipelines and develop ones for new data sources

Design, develop and maintain APIs for use by external clients

Optimize query performance and cost, particularly for large data sets (terabytes of data)

Ensure that data is complete, accurate and is continuously monitored for quality issues

Work with the data science team on feature engineering, model production and monitoring

EXPERIENCE:

We are looking for candidates with the following experiences and attributes:

Experience with at least one major cloud computing provider (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, etc)

Experience with orchestration tools (Airflow, Dagster)

Experience with Spark/ PySpark and Spark optimizations

Strong Python skills and great coding habits

Familiarity with API design and common Python API frameworks
