SRC FTBL is a football analytics startup founded in 2022 by Sarah Rudd, Ravi Ramineni, and Cole Grossman. We provide analytics support, strategy and expertise to football clubs around the world.

Job Description

The role will require significant passion for football and a desire to work in small, closely connected team. Given the early stage of our company, we are seeking candidates who have more than just technical and modeling skills. Our goal is to build the highest level of analytics in global football, and we are seeking candidates who share this levelof ambition.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

This candidate will work closely with our team to develop and enhance our infrastructure, models, and analysis tools. This will include the following responsibilities:

Refine and improve existing models and metrics for player and team performance

Create new metrics and models using advanced and complex data sources

Perform data engineering tasks required as part of the end-to-end modelling lifecycle

Deliver ad hoc analysis of players, teams, leagues, to support our partner clubs

Deliver specific research projects to answer important football questions and deliver new insights

Connect and articulate highly complex technical concepts with football terminology andstrategy

EXPERIENCE:

We are looking for candidates with the following experiences and attributes:

Comfortable having in-depth discussions about football tactics and concepts

Familiarity with the football data provider landscape

Multiple types of modelling techniques in either R or Python

Comfortable querying databases with SQL

Familiarity with working with large data sets and distributed systems

We are seeking candidates comfortable working in a distributed workforce. However, given the stage of our company and the requirements of this role, we will only accept candidates within a seven hour time difference from Central Standard Time – likely in the United States, Europe, or South America.
